Dondella-Trail

From Bardineto, the moderate ascent to Bric Schenasco starts at Bric Tencione on the Dondella Trail. A unique trail through a beech forest with very fast, wide bends, typically narrow hollow paths and steep steps.

Description

Finaleligurefreeride has recently started offering a shuttle to Bardineto. From here, you can choose two ascents and be driven up. For example to Bric Schenasco. Or you can take the normal Finale Bikers Shuttle to Melogno and start the tour from here. The tour starts here from Bardineto and you ride out of the village in a westerly direction. At a traffic circle, head straight onto the small road, which soon becomes a gravel track. The route climbs slowly along the valley. The rocky massif of Rocca Barbena appears on the left and you continue to follow the road uphill. At a crossroads, keep right and ride up to Bric Schenasco. Once there, the ascent to Bric Tencione becomes noticeably steeper. The Dondella Trail starts there to the left of the road. The trail begins with fast, wide bends through the vast beech forest. The forest soon becomes denser and the typical Ligurian terrain leads through ditches that serve as natural berms. The terrain becomes steeper and steeper, but everything is easy to ride. The trail is great fun and by the time you look around, you've already reached the end and are riding back to Bardineto.

Background to Ride MTB

Ride MTB is dedicated to mountain biking. With the maps Ride Trail Maps and Trail Books and the print magazine Ride, it has played a formative role in alpine mountain biking for many years and has shaped it like few other organizations.
