Esterliturm | Ride MTB

Esterliturm

In addition to the prison and the castle, Lenzburg also has a wonderful viewpoint from which large parts of the Mittelland can be seen. It is suitable for mountain bikers as a combination with the Tannwald above Wohlen.

Description

From Lenzburg, follow the Aabach to just south of the sports grounds and then climb up a forest path towards Esterliturm. On the outward journey, however, you circle the tower to the south and pass Egliswil on the upper edge of the village. Via Eichberg you climb up to Titistei and reach Tribächli via Tannwald and Grossmooshau. Now it's a stone's throw up to the Esterliturm. The final descent on a singletrail awaits here, and you finally return to the center of Lenzburg as on the outward journey or on Quartierstraschen past the large prison.

Quite nice for a Sunday outing, but apart from the singletrail down from the Esterliturm, everything else is 95% on wide forest roads. There is also a mistake exactly on this singletrail - at KM 18 the trail is marked straight down - but there is nothing there, only woods, it is better to ride along the wide forest road for about 100 meters at KM 18 and then turn left back into the singletrail - or even better to take the trail from the Esterliturm down to the Aabach (can be found on Trailforks at https://www.trailforks.com/trails/esterli/).
