Irchel Westrunde
Description
From Bülach, you more or less roll along the railroad line to Glattfelden and get your first taste of trails. The trails are also one reason why you take the Rhinsberg with you on the way to Tössegg. This rather inconspicuous mountain is the starting point of the trail descent down to Tössegg, where the ascent to Irchel Hochwacht begins. Here you pass the village of Teufen and climb up to Irchel from the north side. The next singletrail fun begins on the ridge of the Irchel. On the trail, now one of the legendary bike routes in the Zurich Unterland, you follow the ridge, heading down to the right in between to get back up to the ridge through the Schartenflue. The trail goes on and on and only comes to a brilliant end with the final descent from Froberg down to Dättlikon. Trails are now also the order of the day on the return journey to Bülach, especially on the section to Embrach. A mix of flowing trails and gravel roads takes you high above the River Töss to the psychiatric clinic, then along the torrent to the town center of Embrach. Now you climb one last time, in this case up to the Heideggerhof, to roll back to Bülach in this way.

Ideal tour on these hot days: mostly through shady deciduous forests on flowing, not particularly strenuous trails. A beautiful tour!
Thanks to the push assistance, the 10-metre climb is also easy to manage on an eBike.
In the GPX data, the pedestrian passage at the station is indicated as not passable, but this passage has now been explicitly equipped with bicycle lanes and permission has been granted to ride through.
From Dättlikon to Embrach, after crossing the Töss, there is a steep stair climb where the MTB has to be carried for the first few meters or moved over the steps. Not an easy task with an e-MTB.
In the summer of 2022, the narrow trails on the Rhischberg were lined with tall stinging nettles, and the Tössegg is very busy on nice days, so pushing the bike is good for the biker's image. You can start pedaling again immediately after the restaurant.
Overall, a beautiful route that can be ridden on an E-MTB despite the aforementioned restrictions.
