Tösstal Marathon

The Tösstal Marathon is a maximum bike tour through the Zurich Oberland. From Winterthur on the western side to the Bachtel and back on the eastern side.

Description

From Winterthur, follow the railroad line in the direction of Zurich, but then climb up to Rossberg and reach Weisslingen. Madetswil, Gündisau and Hermatswil are now on the way to Dürstelen, from where you descend via Stoffel to Bauma. Now it's time for the long ascent to Bachtel. Instead of riding all the way to the summit, you first head via Hueb to Wald and then climb up the Waldner Tobel. You pass the Tössscheidi, ride past the Schnebelhorn and reach Steg through the Brüttental valley. This is followed by the ascent to Hörnli, and here too you don't ride to the summit but head directly to Sternenberg. A crisp descent leads to Bauma. Instead of taking the direct route to Wila, you take the ascent to Schlossberg and reach Turbenthal on this route. Passing the Schauenberg ruins, the route finally leads to Hofstetten and through the Etzberg back to Winterhur.
