Bodensee-Zürichsee
Description
The two-day crossing of Eastern Switzerland begins at Lake Constance with the ascent to the Fünfländerblick on the Rorschacherberg. The view from here of Lake Constance and the Säntis is unique. You then ride down to Halten and climb up to the Kaienspitz opposite. You reach Rehetobel via Gupf and then descend to Chastenloch, where you cross the Goldach stream. A steep ascent leads to Trogen, and from there you climb along a small road to Buche and Wissegg, which lies a little further back. On small roads and gravel paths, you ride past Hasler, reach the Enggenhütten and finally climb the Hundwiler Höchi with its fantastically situated mountain restaurant from the north side. The descent then leads over the ridge to Urnäsch and from there on mountain roads to the Hochhamm inn. Follow the ridge on single trails to Bächli, then on to Hemberg and then a mix of trails and gravel paths to Köbelisberg. A wonderful single trail leads down to Wattwil, from where you reach the Lake Zurich region via Twerenalp at Chrüzegg. Along the ridge, you pass Atzmännig and Köbelberg, reach Rüeterswil and ride from here into Ranzachtobel, which ends on the outskirts of Schmerikon on Lake Zurich.
Tip: There are many places to stay along the route. The mountain inns on the peaks of the Appenzell and Toggenburg mountains are particularly popular (on this tour, especially the Hundwiler Höchi)

A very scenic route with wonderful views. The first part has few single trails, many meadow paths that are sometimes mown and sometimes run through tall grass. Rather ride with an e-bike, as there are many very steep climbs. However, you should be in pairs, as it feels like there are 30 turnstiles, some of which you have to lift your bike over. In addition, there are again so many pasture fences, which should all be closed again. After Hemberg, there are two practically unused ravines with arduous climbs that can be bypassed on SwitzerlandMobility Route 33 (Hörnli-Bike), preferably as far as Köbelisberg, then follow the track again so that you don't miss the rewarding descent to Wattwil. Two days for the tour is very sporty, we rode to Wattwil by Biobike in this time.
