St. Galler Rundtour
Description
From St. Gallen city center, ride westwards along the signposted cycle paths to Brüggen and Haggen. Before the large bridge to Stein, keep left and follow the Wattbach stream to the road from St. Gallen to Teufen. Follow this road for a few meters in the direction of Teufen, then turn left after about 500 meters onto a forest path to Frölichsegg. From here, follow the hilltop over the Stuelegg. After Waldegg, the trail becomes a singletrail for a short time, after which you ride downhill to Wenigerweier and from there up to Freudenberg directly above St. Gallen. A technically interesting trail takes us back to the city. Instead of riding back to the center, we take an additional loop and take the road to Speicher for a few meters. After the monastery, turn left through the residential area, at the end of which a flowing singletrail begins. Follow this to the Martinsbrücke bridge and cycle back to the city center on the road and along the official cycle paths.
Route: St. Gallen - Bruggen - Haggen - Liebegg - Rüti - Egg - Hüslersegg - Waldegg - Oberer Horst - Wenigerweier - Ober Kapf - Freudenberg - Notkersegg - Hueb - Schaugenbad - Martinsbrücke - Neudorf - St. Fiden - St. Gallen

Beautiful morning tour. You should ride it during the week during the day, *not* at the weekend. Attention: The distance given in the details is not correct. The tour is significantly shorter, see Map / Track. Here are some comments:
km 6.8: It's quite a steep climb here for a while!
km 12.0: The trail is fun, but stays wet for a long time (e.g. today: no rain for three weeks, but still deep mud holes).
km 17.0: The no-entry sign is probably explicitly aimed at bikers. Technically challenging because it is steep and - yes, in the middle of St. Gallen - exposed! There are many pedestrians on the road here. At "rush hour" or for technical reasons, you can take a more flowy descent at km 15.5 (or 16.0). Caution: There are also many people on the road here, but it is not explicitly forbidden.
km 17.5: Take the hiking trail to the right of the stream at the edge of the forest. The path in the forest rides into nowhere.
km 19.2: Explicitly forbidden. It is better to take a parallel road further to the right in the district.
Have fun! Ride on!
