Tannenberg | Ride MTB

Tannenberg

This easy and varied tour connects St. Gallen with Lake Constance near Arbon and is an ideal way to take a refreshing dip in the lake in hot summer temperatures

Description

From Arbon you ride to Stachen, from there along the highway to Obersteinach and finally along forest paths, single trails and asphalt roads along the railroad line in the direction of St. Gallen. At Kronbühl, you change sides of the valley and ride up to the "Peter and Paul" zoo and up to the antenna on Rotmonten on the eastern Rosenberg. Here begins the first descent to the Lässerhof and the banks of the Sitter, which you follow a few meters downstream, but change sides at the next bridge. From here, you reach the Tannenberg with its great views via Engelburg. From the restaurant, ride a few meters back along the access road, then turn left into the forest and continue to Bernhardzell and the banks of the Sitter. There is still a short climb to Unterlören before continuing down to Roggwil, from where you can return to Arbon on country roads parallel to the main road.

The tour does have some scenic sections and can be a varied e-bike tour at best. The descents in the Peter and Paul area and also in the Tannenberg area have little to do with biking and single trails. Both areas would have very nice single trails.

The tour does have some interesting sections. In the Peter and Paul area and from Tannenberg towards Wittenbach, however, there are very beautiful single trails which are not included in this tour. Instead, the majority of the route is unfortunately ridden on forest roads.
