Seealpsee
Description
From Weissbad (just south of Appenzell), you ride along a paved mountain road along the Schwendibach stream to Wasserauen. From here, a very steep climb begins on a tarred road that calls out for the lowest possible gear. This leads directly to the shore of the small Seealpsee lake in the shadow of the Alpstein's landmark, the Säntis. We circle the lake and climb the last few meters to the Hüttenalp. From here, a technically very challenging trail begins through the Hüttentobel back to Wasserauen, from where we return to the starting point via the approach route.
This route is located in the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden. Bike bans can be found here time and again, including on this route. The authorities explicitly do not want mountain bikers on trails and mountain bikers are advised to avoid other regions. Being aware of this fact and the legal situation, it is the responsibility of each individual to ride a mountain bike on this route.

There is even a sign banning bikes, and those who live in the area have always known that biking in the Alpstein is a no-go.
Sorry folks, if you want to make yourself unpopular, do this tour. Bikers are extremely unwelcome in the Alpstein. What's more, the ascent is really very steep and the descent isn't great either. There are usually a lot of hikers on the trail.
