From Wattwil, ride behind the train station on an asphalt road in the direction of Schlosswis and follow it uphill to Hinter Rumpf. From here, the road becomes a gravel path, which becomes very steep at the first hairpin bend and leads to Tweralp, a little south-east of Chrüzegg. Now ride a few meters along the alpine path towards the Chrüzegg restaurant, but then turn right onto a technically challenging singletrail. Below the Alplispitz, you reach the Ober and Unter Alpi on an increasingly flowing trail. Stay on the single trail that rides down to Alp Loh. Follow the asphalt road towards Dietfurt and after about two kilometers turn right towards Krinau. The last 130 meters of ascent to Schwendi follow, which are rewarded with a single trail via Grueben directly to the village of Lichtensteig. Cycle along the Thur back to Wattwil.

On Whit Monday 2024 on the road with e-MTBs, uphill from Wattwil, down via Libingen-Krinau. The route past the Underen Chrüzeggalp via Oberzrick down to the Libingerbach was a challenging trail - more streambed than alpine road, maltreated by tractors. Sometimes we had to dismount... But otherwise wonderful!
