Matzalm-Trail (Leogang)

If you don't want to ride shaped curves in Leogang, you should try the Matzalm trail. It really rumbles here. It is peppered with roots and blocked passages. Everything on this trail makes the hearts of endurists beat faster.

Description

You start the tour in the village of Leogang and ride the forest road for eleven kilometers to the Asitzberg station. From here, you ride down the Steinberg Trail for about one kilometer until you leave the trail in a left-hand bend. On the other side of the forest road, you can already see the sign for the Matzalm Trail. The first part is quite moderate with a few bumpy passages, then you reach the forest road and ride downhill in a right-hand direction. After about one kilometer, turn left onto the trail again. Now it gets more challenging, with steep sections over a carpet of roots. Then it becomes increasingly rocky. It is a little exposed at a crossing, but everything is easy to ride. The lower part turns into alpine meadows and is no longer as challenging. This brings you back to the forest road of the approach route and you roll back to Leogang.
