Pikov vrh

The Pikov vrh is a somewhat hidden bike summit near Mežica and offers a varied and very selective descent with just a few meters of altitude - a highlight in the region.

Description

The starting point of the tour is the underground biking parking lot at the Monte Peca Mining Museum. From here, you cross the bridge over the main road into the industrial area and follow the official cycle route, which initially runs partly on asphalt and later on gravel. The ascent to Veliki vrh is moderately steep and you continue along the ridge to Pikov vrh, pushing your bike. The wooded summit offers only limited panoramic views on the uphill section.

As compensation, cyclists can expect a deluxe singletrail descent with a difficulty of S1 to S2. The trail later becomes more challenging and runs through the forest towards Fridrih with a difficulty of S2. After a short crossing of the gravel road, a selective single trail with a difficulty of S3 to S4 leads steeply downhill. After completing this descent, you can enjoy a relaxed ride back to the starting point.

For those who find the last descent too challenging, there is the option of turning off in Spodnji Breg and choosing an easier variant, which makes the tour considerably easier.
