Steile Hänge Tour

Bike-Trail Baiersbronn

The Steile-Hänge-Tour is one of the mountain bike classics in the Baiersbronn region. It rides once around the upper Murg Valley and includes some of the best trails in Baiersbronn - all official and signposted.

Description

Baiersbronn is the starting point of the famous steep slope tour. From here, you climb up to the Satteleihütte and on to the Labbronnerkopf. Now head onto the Eulengrund trail from above. Section 1 is completed, followed by the second ascent, in this case to the Bismarckhütte and thus to the starting point of descent number 2 via the Tannenfels Trail. Section 3 is now on the plan and thus the next ascent. This leads up to the Neuberg, where after a gravel transfer you tackle the Hirschlach Trail. This takes you to the village of Obertal at the far end of the Murg Valley. This is single trail number 4, for which you first climb up to the Binsenhütte, where you tackle the Buhlbach trail on the left-hand side of the Murg Valley on the way back to Baiersbronn.

On the return journey, there are only two mountain prizes to be won and not four as on the outward journey. The first mountain is the Burgkopf, where the Walterhütten trail on the east side rides back down into the valley. You now roll out of the valley on cycle paths and climb a little south of Mitteltal in the direction of Höllkopf. Here you take the Höllkopf trail back down, circle the mountain further down and add the Bergergrund trail to the program at the very end. This ends on the outskirts of Baiersbronn.

A beautiful singletrail tour with many but rather short (maximum 300 metres in altitude) gravel road ascents and singletrail descents in the S1 to S2 range on official mountain bike trails throughout.

Great tour with relaxed ascents and crisp downhill trails, with beautiful views in between.

Super!
