Description

The starting point of the tour is Chiesa, the main town in Valmalenco. Here you take the cable car to Alpe Palù, the starting point of the three descents. The first is a flowy ride over to Lago Palù. Then it gets a little steeper, a little more serpentine, but everything is still in the S1 to maximum S2 range. In this way, you head down to the valley station of the chairlift and take it back up to Alpe Palù.

Descent number two is next. The first section is identical to the first descent, but then you stay left and head down the direct route. Finally, you pass the middle station and roll down further singletrails to the valley station. Once again, the level is S1.

Take the chairlift back up for the third and final descent back to Chiesa. To do this, follow the single trail downhill, which rides more or less alongside the chairlift to the valley station. This trail is a little more technical and at a good S2 level. Leave the valley station on the left and continue downhill. You cross the mountain road and then change sides after a few hairpin bends. A flowing S1 trail free of hairpin bends now leads to Primolo, where the final bouquet awaits: a winding and steep S2 trail zigzags down to Chiesa. Take the road back to the valley station where the tour once began.

  • There is a fourth downhill option, but it is very challenging. To do this, first follow the route of the third descent, but then turn left via Piazetto to Albareda. The path is in the S2 area. But then it gets down to business. The path down to Chiesa is an S4 trail in sometimes very steep terrain. If you are really good on the trail, you will have fun here - everyone else will be on foot for long stretches.
  • Beware: the cable cars in Valmalenco only operate in July and August.
