The first part of the tour consists of the entire 1100-metre ascent from Chiesa up to the Rifugio. This involves climbing steadily up the mountain, first on asphalt and then on gravel. At Alpe Airale, you take a right-hand serpentine straight ahead on a flat trail over to Rifugio Bosio-Galli. This is the highest point of the tour, a good opportunity for a break.
