Val Belviso Supertrail
Description
Ideally, you should start the tour in Tirano with a bike shuttle to Aprica. The actual tour then begins at the foot of the little road that leads to the Belviso reservoir. At the southern end of the lake, turn left and climb up a gravel road to Malga di Campo. This section is steep, but always paved with concrete. Follow the road further uphill until you finally have to push your bike 300 meters up to the Passo del Venerocolo. An e-bike can be pushed up with a lot of effort and pushing assistance, but it is very strenuous.
At the transition into the Valle di Scalve, you reach the seemingly endless path high above the Val Belviso. This wonderful, varied and almost continuously super flowy single trail leads over 13 kilometers slightly downhill to the Aprica bike park - it is one of the best single trails in Valtellina. In the bike park, you turn into the built but very natural bike trail that leads to the village of Aprica.
Now the final phase awaits: the descent into the main Valtellina valley with an additional 700 meters of descent. To do this, you roll to the start of the tour and take a flat singletrail that leads to a power station building. Now take a sharp right turn and then speed down to the valley floor, sometimes smoothly, sometimes a little bumpier. If you still have enough energy at the bottom, take the cycle path back to Tirano. It is somewhat easier to take the train back to Tirano at Tresenda station.
Note: Some route descriptions on the internet recommend this route in the opposite direction to avoid the carrying passage. However, a large part of the descent is on small roads and the final section in the Aprica bike park is also omitted. The counter-clockwise tour (as suggested here) is much more attractive in terms of trail fun, but requires a steep climb.

A mega tour, there's rarely so much flow in one go. A real work of art. The high trail in particular is a special highlight, but it also takes a lot of energy. It's not all downhill, but there are always counter-climbs. It's all rideable, but it takes forever.
The trail in the bike park is pretty dull, but there is an alternative route down parallel to it. This is much crisper (S3) and then again rather borderline for a bike park.
For the ride up to Aprica, you can also take the bus at 8:40 a.m. in Tirano. However, you should clarify or reserve bike transportation in advance at the bus station. A bus also rides from Sondrio.
Unfortunately, trains do not ride in 2025 either, and SEV is without bike transport. That's sad...
Amazing tour. Stunning views. Remote feeling. I took the shuttle from Tirano to Rifugio Cristina Valbelvisio (the last stop for water on the tour) and started the tour there. Still a long up, but worth it! And the tour should definitely be done in the direction that Ride proposes, ie counter clockwise. The only thing I would do differently than Ride's route is for the downhill to Aprica I recommend taking the super fun bike trail that starts just across from Rifugio Valtelina rather than the rather poor bike park trail underneath the lift.
Last but not least, don't miss the final natural trail from Aprica down to the Tresenda on the valley floor.
My favorite tour in the Valtelina area!

We rode the tour on 27.07.2024 and are completely thrilled with this great tour.
The tour description from Ride hits the nail on the head and it really is a super trail!
Many people ride the trail from the other side because then they can use the cable car. But I also recommend making the effort and pushing the 300 m up to the top of the pass. This is also doable on an e-bike with push assistance. What comes next is simply first class. Provided you can cope well with exposed trails, because 90 percent are more or less exposed. With good concentration, however, everything is rideable. A first-class flow trail.
Nothing to add, absolutely amazing, even with an eBike, the effort is 100% worth it _ a sbsolute highlight in every respect,

Attention, no trains ride the whole summer 24.

The trail described at the beginning from Aprica to the little road that rides to the dam is a dirt road & afterwards a narrow concrete path. On the beautiful high trail I met some (see note) who rode the tour in the opposite direction. The black singletrail towards the end of the tour in the Aprica bike park is not that great, more of a bumpy flow trail, technically easy. But a super tour in terms of scenery!
