Baden-Rundtour

The Brugg region is Switzerland's moated castle, where the Aare, Limmat and Reuss rivers flow together. On the circular tour between Baden and Brugg, there are plenty of single trails and lots of "liquids".

Description

In Baden, you reach the Meierhof district on the cycle path, but keep left here immediately after the large parking lot and follow forest paths and single trails to the portal of the Baregg tunnel. Follow this trail to the industrial area of Dättwil, but then climb up to the left via Spittelau to the Rüsler. Immediately after crossing the little road, a fun singletrail begins on the left, which you follow downhill to the main road near Niederrohrdorf. Via Rückerfeld you finally reach Mellingen and thus also the Reuss. On the right bank of the river, you now ride downstream mainly on easy and flowing singletrails. A little further on, you reach the point where the Reuss flows into the Aare, then follow the railroad line to the Limmat and climb up to Rotchrüz near Stroppel. On forest paths, you later reach Ebnihof, from where a fun descent rides to Nussbaumen. Baden is reached along the banks of the Limmat upstream.

The description does not match the trail. The trail on the Rüsler is on the right. But more importantly, the section along the river is beautiful but not flowy. It has many cross roots, steps (up and down) and some stairs (up). This requires an active riding style but also has its charms. In addition, the track is not quite right, as in one place the path has slipped and the hiking trail has been rerouted for several years, in others trails are left out or the bike has to be carried up stairs that could be bypassed. What's more, most of the trail is off-limits...
