Badener Höhe - Baden Baden

Badener Höhe (Baden-Baden)

The Badener Höhe is a great vantage point in the middle of the vast forests of the Black Forest. With Baden-Baden as the starting point, the inconspicuous peak with its viewing tower is ideal for a mountain bike tour.

Description

The route starts in Lichtental, the neighboring town of Baden-Baden. From here, you roll to Geroldsau and then climb up the wild and romantic Grobbachtal valley on a gravel road. Cross the main road at Schwanenwasen and continue up a wonderful single trail to Bühler Höhe. Once again you change sides of the road and the ascent continues on a gravel road. This becomes increasingly narrow and finally rides as a flat singletrail to the Herrenwieser Sattel. The last section up to Badener Höhe is then another gravel road. By the time you reach the summit, you have 800 meters of altitude in your legs. Then there are a few more crushed ones with the stair climb to the roof of the viewing tower. Here you can enjoy a great panoramic view of the entire northern Black Forest.

For the descent back to Baden-Baden, follow the ascent route back to Herrenwieser Sattel. Follow the trail that you have already ridden up, but then descend at a barbecue area and ride down a wide trail to a gravel road. Roll along this road to the next junction on the right, turn left and a short time later you will reach the start of the Wasserleitungsweg. This is an eight-kilometer-long, almost flat path. Always flowing, sometimes a little unkempt, then again smooth as glass on forest soil, at times two meters wide, then again just 30 centimeters. The Wasserleitungsweg is a great, hardly frequented route and ends directly at the Scherrhof. In a mixture of trail, gravel road and asphalt sections, the route now descends towards Lichtental, with another wonderful section of trail at the very end that leads directly to the outskirts of Lichtental.

Note: The tour crosses the Schwarzwald National Park for a short stretch, with a general ban on biking off designated routes.

Note: The tour is located in Baden-Württemberg with the legal requirement of a two-meter rule. This tour contains elements that do not comply with this regulation. Rather, it reflects routes that are ridden by local mountain bikers. Compliance with the regulations is the responsibility of each individual mountain biker.
