Toter Mann Trail
Description
Immediately after the start of the tour at Forbach train station, you enter the first trail section that rides to Sasbach. From here, you climb a good 600 meters in altitude on an asphalt road, later on gravel, to the Toten Mann, a refuge at the top of the ridge. This is where the long, flat trail begins, which rides north over the ridge for four kilometers. The forest is very open here and the trail rides through a sea of colorful ground hedges. This section is far more reminiscent of Scandinavia than the Black Forest.
At the Prinzenhütte, the descent into the Murg Valley begins. First a few meters on a gravel road, then a wide trail begins on the left, which rides down to the next gravel road without any bends. This is followed by an alternation of S1 serpentine trails and gravel to the Gausbach sports field. If you prefer, you can ride back to Forbach on local roads or climb a few more meters to ride on trails along the edge of the forest to the park above Forbach train station.
Note: The tour is located in Baden-Württemberg with the legal requirement of a two-meter rule. This tour contains elements that do not comply with this regulation. Rather, it reflects routes that are ridden by local mountain bikers. Compliance with the regulations is the responsibility of each individual mountain biker.
