Description
In the small village of Puntone, the tour begins with an ascent along the old main road and branches off onto a single trail a little after a viewpoint along the road. At the end of a wooded area, the trail rides into it on the right and climbs slightly. You cross various paths up and down and then, keeping to the left, tackle a longer ascent with intermediate descents over a firebreak. Before the highest point, turn right onto a first-class singletrail that ends just above the sea. On a gravel road, you pass the Cala Violina bay and, after a steep climb, reach a small transition and the next singletrail. This rides around another hill back to Cala Violina. The same steep ascent takes you back to the small crossing, but keep slightly to the left and steadily gain altitude on an almost endless trail ascent. The last few meters to Poggio la Guardia are barely rideable. The descent turns out to be a genuine enduro trail and ends after a small counter-climb at the port of Puntone di Scarlino.

Very nice, technically easy single trail tour (up & down)! Attention... Oncoming traffic here and there in different variations (hikers, bikers, horses). The 680 vertical meters are a bit deceptive, because of partly soft forest soil or sandy ground it feels like a bit more.
