Campiglia Marittima Trail-Looping
Description
At a parking lot on the outskirts of Campiglia Marittima, you start the mostly moderately steep climb, which first rides over asphalt and then on gravel towards Monte Calvi. Short intermediate descents alternate with equally short, steep sections. Shortly before the culmination of the first and third loops, the forest road becomes rougher, but remains easy to ride even without an e-mountain bike. A flat trail to the left through the forest takes you to the starting point of several trails, all of which are marked with names at the start gate.
Balzo alla Femmina is the name of the first trail, which is wild in sections and leads eastwards into a side valley and spits out a road leading south along the hill. A short trail serves as a shortcut to head back up towards Monte Calvi. On this occasion, however, only for the lower two thirds, as the trail "La Strega" (the witch) on the right hand side leads over a rather wild ride to the already familiar mountain road. The third loop uses familiar paths for the ascent to the trail start of "Super Mario Bros", perhaps the most playful trail in this area. Countless berms, jumps and waves are almost perfectly placed in the terrain and make for a fun ride. A traverse followed by a short trail climb leads to the final loop. The Sdegnetors trail winds its way through a small valley, skillfully using the terrain as a berm. From a visitor center on local mining, the trail leads back to the starting point via small roads and along the access road.
