La Frecce Bianche
Description
The ascent from Varazze via San Pietro to Passo Valle, which is just under 400 meters in altitude, rides along asphalt roads with little traffic. The inconspicuous pass is the starting point for the fun descent back to the Ligurian coast. The first section still leads over a few gravel roads, then pure singletrail fun is the order of the day. The Frecce Bianche trail starts at the exclusive Santuario di Nostra Signora monastery and then follows the ridge over Monte Grosso. The trail leads down a fun and flowing descent to Invrea, from where you can cycle back to Varazze on the cycle path along the Mediterranean coast.

Today, April 11, 2026, I followed the trail using a GPX file. I'm not sure if there's a mistake in the route. No flow, no forest like in the photo—just a ton of loose scree on the path, so you’re just wobbling over the rocks and feeling for your bike components, which are getting pelted by the scree. I found the Boa Hardrock much more flowy compared to the Frecche Bianche.
