If you want to tackle the tour with a cable car ascent, you must do so from the end of June to the beginning of September - these are the seasonal dates for the Prarion cable car. Otherwise, you will have to tackle the 800-metre ascent yourself. From the mountain station, you first ride on gravel over the plateau until a great and rooty single trail starts on the right. Follow this until you reach a gravel road, but then stay on the trail that rides parallel to the road towards Col de Forclaz. The second part of the descent begins from this pass - a varied, flowing but challenging singletrail, especially in the lower section. The path rides as far as Servoz, where you pedal up to Lac Vert. Initially on an asphalt road, later on a gravel road, which is occasionally quite steep. The ascent to the lake is worthwhile, however, as it is idyllically situated in the forest and more than lives up to its name with its green water surface. The ascent is also worth it for the descent. A steep but easily rideable trail winds its way down through the forest. You then follow the ascent route for a short distance, but then turn right into the forest to reach the descent route created by local mountain bikers. A great descent, but be careful with the jumps! These are sometimes quite large and cannot be rolled over. This trail leads down to Servoz, from where you can ride back to Les Houches by train.
