Lej Cavloc | Ride MTB

Lej Cavloc

Lake Cavloc is a jewel of the Upper Engadin. The mountain bike ride to the mountain lake is combined with a circumnavigation of Lake Sils via Grevasalvas.

Description

After starting the tour in Sils, you first follow the main road towards Maloja for a while until you climb up to the hamlet of Grevasalvas in Plaun da Lej. The hamlet became famous as the setting for the first Heidi film. The route continues up to Blaunca and then downhill on the crisp singletrail to Maloja. Where the main road descends into Bergell, turn left and climb around 100 meters up to Lej Cavloc with its inn. On the other side of the shore, you return, a trail leads downhill to Maloja and on the southern shore of Lake Sils you return to Sils via Isola.

Unfortunately, we only looked at the comments after the tour, but we can agree with all of them. Most of the trails are not rideable for the average biker.
For us, there is definitely no risk of repeating the tour.

The descents from Grevasalvas and Laj Cavloc are very demanding. The classification for riding technique only level 3 is definitely wrong.

I absolutely agree with the previous speaker. The "descent" from Lej Cavloc in particular is a disaster. If you like to push and carry your bike, you've come to the right place. About 90% of the ride is not possible. That's just a shame if you've pedaled up beforehand. The Upper Engadin has much nicer bike trails to offer.
For me, three out of five points for riding technique is massively too low for the section described. Please check the rating and correct the entry!

I think the term 'bike tour' is a bit of an exaggeration for someone who loves 'crisp' trails, but isn't one of the world's elite in trials. Otherwise, it's more like a hike with a bike. It has a few great sections, no problem, but all in all absolutely NOT recommended as a bike tour.
