Val Fex | Ride MTB

Val Fex

Oberengadin

In winter, crowds of people ride into Val Fex in horse-drawn carriages. In summer, this is no less attractive - provided you have a mountain bike as a vehicle.

Description

The tour into Val Fex starts in St. Moritz Bad, from where you climb up to the Olympic ski jump and ride via Lej Nair and Lej Zuppò to Surlej. Now you climb up a forest road almost as far as Alp Surlej, but take the single trail immediately below, which branches off to the right. The ups and downs take you to Alp Prasüra and on to the little road into Val Fex. Follow this uphill to Alp Muot Selvas with its inn. The return journey initially follows the ascent route, but you then take the trail on the left-hand side of the valley to reach Sils-Maria. Return along the riverside path to Surlej and along the Inn to St. Moritz Bad.

The cycling ban is located at the Hotel Fex (Chalchais) on the western section (return route). What a pity, this tour urgently needs updating.

Unfortunately, due to the ban on cycling on the way back, the tour doesn't make much sense if you want to stick to it. The way back then consists mainly of asphalt roads rather than trails.

In Fextal, a large part of the route has been "equipped" with an official ban on cycling. What a pity.

Super nice tour for being so easy. Exactly 1,200 m ascent according to SwitzerlandMobility.

Super nice tour, unfortunately the trail on the left side of the valley below the Alp da Segel has now been equipped with a bicycle ban.

Our GPS (Garmin) showed significantly more meters - 1300m. Very nice tour in a great landscape. Yes, there are also trails on the ascent!
