Bernina – Poschiavo (La Rösa)
Description
From Pontresina, follow the single trail north of the pass road up to the Montebello bend and then take the marked mountain bike trail via Bernina Suot to the Bernina Pass. At the top of the pass, a trail leads off to the right, on which you reach the pass road further down. After a few meters, a meadow path leads uphill, which then becomes a first-class single trail and finally leads to La Rösa. A direct route takes you to Sfazù, a short climb along the road on a gravel path, and then the world-class route begins on the historic path to San Carlo. Poschiavo is now just a stone's throw away. Return to the Bernina Pass with the Rhaetian Railway, from where you should ideally take the ascent route to Pontresina.

We rode the tour down from the Bernina Pass yesterday. A wonderful tour with a magnificent backdrop. (S1-S3).
Deviation from the original track: Both before Rösa and before Sfazu you can stay on the hiking trail and not ride down on the road as the GPX track indicates.
Shortly after San Carlo there are two debris passages over the trail: note the blockage, you can't get through the debris passage - we tried it. Alternative: Ride down through the village.
A very beautiful tour that can be perfectly combined with the Lago Saoseo tour. To do this, follow the signs no. 432 from Buril. This saves you the 700 m climb from Poschiavo to Buril. Both lakes are well worth seeing.
The trail is closed at Aqueti (major roadworks). You have to ride down to the road and back up again in Sfazù.
It's a wonderful tour that I recorded with the GoPro Camera. When it's cold and wet outside, I play this video and ride along on my home bike or hometrainer. I'm particularly fascinated by the lake on the Bernina Pass. You can see the video of this tour on youtube, the link is: https://youtu.be/Pb-j2hBAbw8
This is a different tour that you filmed (Alp Grüm). NOT the La Rösa variant. Mfg.
Trail to Poschiavo is great, probably quite slippery when wet. Not exposed at any point.
