The San Romerio tour starts on the Bernina Pass just above the train station. A varied single trail leads downhill on the south side, crosses the road and climbs a few meters. From then on, top-class fun is the order of the day - all the way down to San Carlo. You pass La Rösa and follow the trails specially prepared for mountain bikers. In San Carlo, the long ascent to San Romerio awaits. Climb up a small road to Cruvera and shortly afterwards reach the signposted mountain bike route, which you follow to San Romerio. The excellent rifugio is the ideal place for a (late) lunch break. There are two options for the descent. The direct version to Caneu on Lago di Poschiavo is very demanding, but a worthwhile route for good riders. Less experienced riders can follow the alpine road for a while and turn right at the first opportunity. A mixture of trails and small roads takes you to Miralogo on Lago di Poschiavo. Here you take the train back to the Bernina Pass.

Bin die Tour am 11.10.25 gefahren. Es gibt einige gesperrte Streckenabschnitte hinab nach San Carlo und einmal oben durch nach San Romerio. Da die Arbeiten übers Wochenende eingestellt sind bin ich problemlos durchgefahren. Die steile Schlussabfahrt ist ganz offen für mich am Limit. Hab es extrem genossen. Traumherbsttag mit geiler Strecke.
Sind am 17.7.2021 die Tour gefahren. Statt vom Bernina sind wir ab Poschciavo via offiziellem San Romerio Swiss Mobil Route auf diese Route aufgefahren. Der direkte Trail ab San Romerio ist gut passierbar (wie schon berichtet), wenn man die Steile Passage zu Beginn stossend überwunden hat. Danach sehr steiler aber lustiger und abwechslungsreicher Teil - allerdings nicht für jede:n. Wer zurück auf Poschiavo muss, kann dies auf der linken Seeseite tun, die rechte ist für Velos verboten.
Direktabfahrt geht wieder. Weg wurde freigelegt. Im ersten Abschnitt muss man aber dennoch das Bike kurz heruntertragen. Geiler Trail
Leider ist die direkte Schlussabfahrt ab San Romerio wegen Sturmholz gesperrt. Wegen Zeitmangel habe ich mich nur kurz in das Baumabenteuer eingelassen. Ansonsten eine schöne, lange Tour. Die anderen Berninaabfahrten gefallen mir insgesamt etwas besser.
