Corviglia Grand Tour

Suvrettapass

The Suvretta Pass, the World Cup Flow Trail and the Trais Fluors are some of the best that the Upper Engadin has to offer for mountain bikers. On the Corviglia Grand Tour, these highlights are combined into one route. It is undoubtedly one of the best single trail tours in the Alps.

Description

The tour starts on Piz Nair and is only possible during the summer cable car season (July to October). From the summit, the singletrail descent to the Suvretta Pass takes you through a high alpine mountain world. The high-level trail over to the Munt da San Murrezzan is a biting affair, with steep but rideable ramps to master time and again. The view of the Bernina massif opposite is particularly impressive from here. The World Cup trail then begins at the top station of the chairlift, first as a "natural" single trail and further down as a top-class flow trail. There is even a 360-degree bend included here. The trail leads to just above the Signalbahn, from where you roll over to Chantarella. The funicular is now used for the ascent to Corviglia, before starting the second part of the tour over to Trais Fluors. The route climbs steeply up a gravel road to the Lej Alv reservoir and then climbs up a single trail to Trais Fluors. Very fit mountain bikers master 90 percent of this ascent by riding, most push a little longer here. The mountain station of the Trais Fluors cable car is reached, then you have to climb a few more meters on a single trail. A bizarre lunar landscape lies at your feet here, far below the open valley floor with the Samedan airfield and Piz Palü and Piz Bernina in the background. The trail winds its way down to Munt da la Bes-cha, you follow the high-level trail on the left for a while, but then soon turn right onto the serpentine trail, which only ends at the very bottom of the valley floor.
