Fuorcla Valletta

Furcletta Valletta

The Furcletta Valletta is the transition from the Corviglia to the Valletta Valley and fun for fans of challenging alpine trails. The pass can be perfectly integrated into a round tour in combination with the Suvretta Pass.

Description

The ideal way to start the tour is with the descent from Piz Nair to the Suvretta Pass. The summit is easily reached by cable car. However, the Suvretta Pass can also be reached under your own steam via the Val Bever, whereby after Alp Suvretta you have to push your bike for around 250 meters up to the lovely valley floor of the Suvretta Valley. From the Suvretta Pass with its small lake, the route climbs uphill again, this time easily rideable, until you finally reach the Corviglia in an up and down section. Now the section to Fuorcla Valletta begins. Pass the Lej Alv and head towards Trais Fluors. The singletrail ascent is almost completely rideable for trained mountain bikers. At the hill before Trais Fluors, keep left and conquer Furcletta Valletta. Here the bike is pushed a few meters. Now the fun and tricky trail begins through the high valley to Alp Munt, where the rough and challenging final section to Samedan follows.

We rode the Fuorcla Valletta last Friday - an absolute blast!
The trail to Chamanna Saluver and on towards Trais Fluors has been freshly prepared and is now completely rideable - if you grit your teeth ;-)

!! Attention: the road to/from the Suvretta Pass below Piz Nair is currently closed due to rockfall! We therefore hitchhiked up from Celerina and did the tour that way. It worked out very well for us.

Great tour, at least the descent from Fuorcla. I took the gondola to Marguns (easy ride with a bike) and rode up from there. The ascent over the Suvretta Pass shown here is a great singletrail descent!

Tour on 24.06.23. Super tour, but very strenuous. Before the Fuorcla Valetta there is a snowfield, counter-climb in the descent strenuous but worthwhile. Super trails to Samedan.

This tour is also a highlight here in the Upper Engadine - there is no driving ban! - Alp Muntatsch left into the forest - cool forest trail ! - some impressions (with Olympia Flowtrail on Corviglia) : https://youtu.be/g0sf1hHDbZ4

Rode the tour on 11.09.2022. But we started from Piz Nair via Fuorcla Schlattain to get to the trail at Lej Alv. On the ascent to Trais Flour there are a few passages of pushing. The Fuorcla Valletta requires a lot of pushing (but doesn't take long). You also push a little to Cho d'Valletta. But the downhill trails are great and all rideable. We didn't see any bans anywhere. Don't think there is one on the tour. From point 1961 there is a trail almost all the way down into the valley (not as the commentator Rhäzünser writes). This trail is in the gpx of Ride.ch. You only ride a few meters on the gravel road. Tour highly recommended.

Very cool tour, can also be ridden as a half-day tour from Celerina via Marguns. A few stretches below and above the Chamanna Salufer are included. As already described, the final trail through Val Muntasch is unfortunately forbidden for bikes - a pity, but definitely worth respecting. However, the trail down from Alp Muntatsch is also great and makes up for it a little. It's a shame that it joins the alpine road at point 1961 and that there are no more trail options from here downwards (although I think I've spotted two unmarked branches that aren't indicated on the map).

Very cool tour. Especially the trail at the end towards Bever is simply brilliant. Perfect for technology fans.

The descent from Fuorcla Valletta is much more rewarding than the one from Trais Fluors! Currently (27.6.20) there is still too much snow before and after the crossing. Better wait another two weeks...
By the way: the 100m counter ascent to Cho d'Valletta is worth it. The descent is cool!
For the last part, as mentioned, take the beautiful hiking trail towards Bever.

Thanks for the brilliant tip! We rode the tour today from Piz Nair via Fuorcla Schlattain to Lej Alv, already a first highlight. Then we pedaled/pushed up and finally carried the bike up to Fuorcla Valletta. Then up to Margunin and be sure to push up to Cho d'Valletta again: this is followed by an absolute trail firework display with the most beautiful views down to Bever! Keep left at Alp Muntatsch and follow the trail.

The descent from Alp Munt is not forbidden - in fact, the sign is there illegally, put up by the municipality of Samedan. But thanks for the tip, we will reroute this tour via Alp Munt on the old hiking trail, which is much more attractive than the steep descent from Alp Munt anyway.

An alternative start via Piz Nair to Schlattein is recommended.

In addition, the last (and best) part of the tour is unfortunately subject to a driving ban. What a pity!
