San Romerio Rundtour
Description
From Poschiavo, head directly up via Cologna, turning right onto the gravel road after the village. The trail soon becomes steeper and climbs up several hairpin bends to Sculpetoir at 1820 meters above sea level. The singletrail begins in Val da Terman and winds gently downhill to San Romerio. The tour continues along a gravel road down to Piax, where you turn right into the descent shortly after the last house. The trail rides as far as Presentia, where it then heads downhill on a gravel road to Garbela. In the sharp left-hand bend at the end of the village, you turn right and reach Miralago via a tricky singletrail. Nomen est Omen and so you ride along the shore with a view of the lake until you reach the main road at La Prese, on which you ride comfortably back to Poschiavo.
Alternatives: Shortly before San Romerio, turn right and take a technically challenging singletrail over the Spüligalb directly down to the lakeshore.

Did the tour this week. A tough climb - the traverse to San Romerio is a constant up and down. The view from the church of San Romerio is very rewarding. Unfortunately, the descent described above primarily rides along a forest path and road down into the valley. What a shame for the meters of altitude gained! I would therefore recommend the alternative (if open).
The alternative descent is currently (August 2019) closed. According to the landlord, around 100 trees have been down since October 2018 due to a storm and the path has been closed ever since. We were advised not to use the path anyway.
