The route starts together with numerous racing cyclists on the way up to Monte Bisbino. Immediately before the summit, you turn right and roll along a trail to the Colma del Bugnone, from where you have a great view of the lowest tip of Lake Como near Cernobbio. The panorama becomes even more impressive later on, so continue riding on a gravel road past the Rifugio Bugnone to the Rifugio Murelli. Then it gets steep: a concrete road leads to the Agriturismo Roccolo San Bernardo, from where you push your bike up the last stretch to the summit of Monte Colmegnone.
