The Lucerne Bypass is the best way to get to know the region around the city by bike. The most important single trails near the city are integrated into the route, and even a trip on a Lake Lucerne boat is included. The starting point is the main railway station, from where you first tackle the Sonnenberg via Kriens. Cross the ridge to Hintergütsch and climb up to Krienseregg from the south side. The downhill fun begins immediately at the middle station of the gondola lift on a long and fun single trail to Horw. We rode the tour yesterday. We missed the trails a bit on the Sonnenberg. The long wooden staircase is not exactly pure riding fun. Otherwise a nice day tour. At the end of the Lopper there is now a ban on riding for the last stretch towards the lake. When you come off the trail onto the forest road, you should continue straight onto the next trail instead of following the GPS.

I did this tour 2 weeks ago in beautiful summer weather and I can only recommend it. However, for the sake of fun, I would not turn right towards the chapel on the lower part of the Loppertrail downhill, but continue straight ahead on the hiking trail towards the lake.
