Sempachersee
Description
From Sursee station, I follow the railroad line for a while to Oberkirch and then climb past the golf course up to Bluemeberg. This is followed by a short descent to Buttisholz, where the legendary Villiger bikes were once manufactured. Continue on forest and country roads to Säliwald, always staying on the hill, and later reach the village of Hellbühl. The route continues along the Rotbach stream to Rothenburg, a suburb of Lucerne, from where the return journey begins. Via Rain, you reach Hildisrieden, pass another golf course and follow the ridge through the Chäseriwald forest to Schenkon. From here, it's just a stone's throw back to Sursee.

We rode this route on April 2, 2021.
Lots of asphalt, would say it is more of a cravelbike route.
Attention: in the Chäseriwald forest there is a driving ban on one part of the route, we pushed the bike this part about 500 meters because of game.
This is absolutely no problem if you are not massively threatened and insulted by an old gentleman who has a forest hut there and also wants to ban you from riding! He stood in our way and threatened us with the police, so we just walked past him. Logically, the police didn't come, because pushing the bike is allowed. Please keep to the prohibitions, the game will thank you. You can ignore the gentleman there without a guilty conscience. As the saying goes: dogs that bark don't bite.
We did the tour yesterday. Beautiful but not very demanding (as described). Forest paths and agricultural roads. Some paths in the forest were partly flooded with water (just from the rainfall of the last few days) = mud holes. Certainly no longer a problem in spring/summer.
According to the track, there is a cantonal ban on biking in the forest above Schenkon (Chegelwald). There is no point in following it (we pushed our bikes - but it only goes down to a stream (stairs almost impossible to ride) and then back up again by pushing). It's probably better to ride along the edge of the forest and down to Schenkon.
At "Ober Merzeberg", be sure to follow the straight hiking trail and not the road around the farm as on the track. This gives you 300 meters more trail.
