Banyoles Trails (Girona)

Banyoles is located north of Girona and is a first-class starting point for tours on the Rocacorba. This tour impresses with a high proportion of trails.

Description

From Banyoles, you start with a short section of trail before riding along the asphalt road towards Rocacorba. Keep right at the church of Sant Nicolau and head towards Coll Saposa and down to Riera de Rocacorba on a great mix of trails and gravel road sections. Finally, at Colle d'en Marti, you return to the asphalt road from before and follow it uphill a little to the Pla de Marti forest clearing. This is the starting point of the singletrail descent through the eastern flank of the Rocacorba. The trail is tricky at times, especially in the upper section, as boulders require you to take a circular route. The further down you get, the smoother it becomes. After 400 Elevation loss, the fun is over: you reach a gravel road, keep left on it and transfer to Collet de Can Gelada and on to Collet de Pujarnol. This section is characterized by up-and-down riding on a mixture of single trails and gravel roads.

On the last section, you ride around Sant Pattlari before jetting along the ridge trail to Puig de la Canova and finally down to Banyoles on a direct singletrail route.

Ridden on 30.10.2025: The trail at the very end at ''Puig de la Canoca'' is quite overgrown & some fallen trees lie across the trail. Overall, quite a CC tour with some steep uphills that require a lot of power in the legs with an organic bike.
