Ca del Vacche
Description
If there is snow on the Nato Base in winter and no shuttle rides in Finale, the trails behind San Bernadino are a good option. However, if you don't like it rocky and stony, this is not the place for you. The trails here are technically demanding. The Ca del Vacche is no exception. Nevertheless, it is one of the more flowing trails on the west side of the Calvisio Valley.
The Cucco forest road begins behind the San Bernadino district. Ride up this road until it becomes a cart track. After a while, a connecting trail to the Ruggetta and Ca del Vacche Trail branches off to the right. Turn right onto the Ruggetta and left onto the Ca del Vacche. Flowing at the start, it gets rougher and more blocked as it goes on. The second part of the trail is narrow and gravelly, with rocky sections and hairpin bends leading down to Calvisio. You should have an advanced riding technique, otherwise you won't have any fun on the trail. From Calvisio, you can either ride back up and tackle the next trail (for example the Ruggetta). Otherwise, ride to the beach, where you can enjoy the dolce vita in numerous beach cafés.
Beware: the descent is very slippery when it rains!
