Crestino-Trail

Crestino-Trail (Finale Ligure)

One of the classic routes in Finale Ligure is ridden up to Base Nato using pedal power, before returning to Feglino via the Crestino with plenty of momentum and flow.

Description

The tour begins at the end of Finalborgo at the exit gate, where you ride north until you reach the SP17 to Calice Ligure. In Calice Ligure, turn right towards Carbuta. Continue uphill in Carbuta until you reach the junction on the left onto the SP23 towards Base Nato. After a good 6 km, turn right onto a small cart track that winds up to Base Nato. Cross the square and take the very steep path on the left. This is the start of the Crestino Trail. Keep left at a clearing and ride up the trail. At a trail junction, go straight ahead and now ride at high speed through the wide bends of the Crestino. The trail runs for a total of 7 km, and the lower section is rocky. You have to change your rhythm abruptly to avoid going over the handlebars on this steep, blocked section. At the end, you reach a forest road and roll down to Feglino. Here you can stop off at Cafe Tino or continue back to Finale Ligure.

Very pleasant to pedal up, only a slight incline. The descent is very flowy and fun! A bit more technical towards the end than at the beginning, but everything is easy to ride without any technical tricks :-).
