Ingenere-Trail
Description
Of course, you can take the easier route and book a shuttle to Base Nato and then head straight onto the trail from there. But it is definitely nicer to ride through the secluded forests via the small village of Orco to Colla di Cravarezza. This way, the tour starts in Finale Ligure and you roll east along the beach promenade to Finalpia. There you turn left to Calvisio. The route continues on tarmac to Orco. After Orco, the tour continues on a gravel road to Colla di San Giacomo and on to Colla di Cravarezza.
Now the downhill fun begins with the short Cravarezza trail. In the beech forest, the route takes you along long, fast bends. The trees fly past you. This is how you reach the Ingenere trail. Fast at the start and, as before, with rather wide bends, it then becomes more blocked in the lower part and a few steep steps await. The trail is very long. At the end, the Ingenere turns into the Crestino Trail and becomes a little more challenging until you are spit out at the bottom on the forest road. Happy and satisfied, you roll down to Feglino and treat yourself to a cappuccino at the small Aspettando il Sole pub before riding back to Finale.

The ascent is a great alternative to the shuttle, especially on an e-bike. The first third is on asphalt, the second third on a shaded forest road, and the last third on a trail. The gradient is very moderate, except for a few short sections.
I’d rate the descent as significantly easier. Most of it is in the S1–S2 range; only toward the end are there a few short S3 sections. After the trail, you’ll roll back down the road, which is always slightly downhill. All in all, a lovely ride!
The climbs on a stick are brutal, especially with a 15kg bike.the finish is extreme.
Always great, the engineer :)
