Königswiese - Süd
Description
The starting point is the village of Laag south of Lake Kaltern. From here, the uphill starts right away. You pedal up relatively steeply and on concrete ramps through the vineyards and from the first few meters you have a fantastic panorama of the Adige Valley and the Paganella Group. At around 550 meters above sea level, there is a relatively steep section that can almost only be managed by pushing without electric assistance. The route then continues relaxed on asphalt to Linden/Maria in der Wies and then uphill on gravel and the last few meters on an easy trail to the summit of Königswiese. The summit itself is relatively overgrown, but always offers panoramic highlights in terms of views and a fantastic place to chill out, especially in spring and autumn.
The trail descent is initially at difficulty level S1, occasionally S2, before continuing onto the so-called Banklsteig trail. The trail becomes increasingly challenging and somewhat exposed in places; in the middle section between around 900 and 700 meters above sea level, there are always S3 and S4 sections to tackle. It then continues at S1/S2 level on a fantastic panoramic trail (with a few counter-climbs) back to Laag.
