Monte Faudo - Monte Selletta
Description
From Castellaro, you pass the Madonna di Lampedusa church and take the cart path on the right. Now it gets strenuous. The path is a little bumpy and you have to push hard. At the top of the saddle, the gravel road improves and you ride on to the left. The final ascent to the summit of Monte Faudo is a little steeper, but not too long. The view from here is gigantic. On one side you can see the sea, on the other you can see as far as France.
The descent is no less spectacular. Along the ridge to Monte Folia via a meadow path. Just below the summit, the path rides to the left. You soon reach the gravel road of the ascent route. Now either traverse along the gravel road to the saddle or take a small hiking trail up and down to the right. However, this is quite overgrown and not easy to ride in places. More for adventurers. At the saddle, you can see a forest road straight ahead to Monte Sette Fontane, then continue along the gas pipeline to Monte Croce and on to Monte Selletta. If you want to take it easier, don't ride to the summit, but take the parallel forest road to Monte Selletta. This is where a heavily blocked, rocky trail begins. It is not too technical, but rather a fast downhill trail with a good rumble. On the gravel road, you come to the SP50 and roll back to Castellaro.
