San Lorenzo al Mare

San Lorenzo al Mare

The tour begins with a long tarred ascent from San Lorenzo al Mare. In the Monto Faudo trail area, the route gets down to business on well-maintained, challenging trails. The return via the Boazzo Trail has that downhill feeling.

Description

The tour starts in San Lorenzo al Mare with a very long ascent to the chapel of St. Brigida. Here the surface changes to gravel and another four kilometers are added. The trail starts on the right at the Sasslong, Hangover sign. You can ride both trails, the Sasslong is a little more challenging and eventually leads into the Hangover. The Hangover is not too difficult along the slope, although there are always a few steep steps to master. The Hangover leads directly into Il Terziere and on to Matte Matto, where there are some steep hairpin bends to master. When it is wet, the whole thing becomes challenging. You come to a forest road and ride up to the SP43 and on to the St. Brigida chapel. Once you reach the chapel, take a short left onto the SP79 and then turn right onto the Boazzo trail. Here you get that downhill feeling. Partly steep and exposed on a gravel surface, this trail has a completely different character. Drops and very fast passages, hairpin bends - this trail has everything to offer and requires good riding skills. This is how you get to just before Civezza. A forest road leads back to the SP44 and further downhill to the starting point.
