Saalbach Challenge

Saalbach

The Challenge is a special kind of challenge. Here you have the opportunity to explore the entire Saalbach-Fieberbrunn-Leogang bike region with lift support. From jumptrails to enduro trails, everything is included, including pedaling despite the lift assistance, and you have to be quick to complete the tour in one day.

Description

In Saalbach, take the Schattbergbahn and ride all the way up, starting at the western summit to warm up on the Hacklberg Trail and Buchegg Trail. Continue to the Zwölferkogelbahn on the Z-Line. A staccato of berms in the forest awaits you, and of course there are also a few jumps. This brings you back to Hinterglemm, where you board the Reiterkogelbahn. The Blue Line is next. For the jump specialists, the alternative is the Proline with the really big jumps. Once at the bottom, you roll on to Saalbach to the Kohlmaisbahn on the Panorama Trail. Ride along this trail until after the Panoramaalm and then turn off towards the Spielberghaus. You then roll down to Fieberbrunn on forest and tarred roads to the Streubödenbahn. One of the highlights is the very flowy, beautifully shaped Schweinestberg trail, where jumps and berms are perfectly integrated into the forest and provide a lot of fun.

The 17-kilometre ride to Leogang then follows. The route is very scenic via Hochfilzen to Leogang, mostly on paved paths. In Leogang, you ride up the Asitzbahn, now it gets sporty. There are many options here and we opted for Hangman I. At the beginning there are a few fast berms and blocked terrain, in the lower section there are more fast berms and jumps and then you're back at the bottom of the Asitzbahn and it's up again. Stop off now or add another ride? Depending on what your schedule allows. At the end, you will pedal up the Schönleiten trail and return to the Saalbach side. The Wurzeltrail soon begins there, a natural trail. As the name suggests, there are a few more roots on the trail here. With constant ups and downs, it is very demanding and you have to summon up the last of your energy to make it here. This takes you to the Panoramatrail and then the Montitrail, a flowing and relaxed ride back to Saalbach. This is where the almost 80-kilometre loop ends.
