Saalbach X-Line

From Saalbach, you ride out of the valley along the Saalach and begin the ten-kilometre climb to Schattberg Ost. This is where the fun part begins, the X-Line with some very challenging trail sections. This is where you get that enduro feeling.

Description

Start the tour at the Schattbergbahn parking lot, cross the Saalach and ride along the gravel path until behind the Schönleitenbahn. Here the road branches off to the right onto the Löhnersbachweg. Now head into the valley until you turn right up to Schattberg Ost and continue up the forest road until you reach Schattberg Ost. Now you start the descent with the name X-Line.

It's a fast ride and there are several jumps and tables along the way. Fast berms and flowy sections take you to the edge of the forest, where the route takes on a more downhill character. Quickly blocked with numerous rocks and ledges, you are challenged, it really rumbles here. Before you know it, you're already at the middle station. After this, the trail continues steep and blocked until you reach the alpine meadows after the northshore section. There are still a few big jumps to tackle here. There is also a chickenway for the less ambitious. Finally, there's a big drop to master and then you're back at the bottom station. And everyone can now ask themselves what was more strenuous, the ascent or the descent?

Background to Ride MTB

Ride MTB is dedicated to mountain biking. With the maps Ride Trail Maps and Trail Books and the print magazine Ride, it has played a formative role in alpine mountain biking for many years and has shaped it like few other organizations.
