Stol - Privek

Stol - Privek

The tour around the Privek with the legendary ascent towards Stol combines an epic uphill with a varied trail descent on the south side of the Stol in the Soca side valley.

Description

The tour starts in Kred. From here, the main road towards Stanovišče leads steadily uphill on asphalt. At Sedlo, you leave this road and pedal along a military road from the First World War on cobblestones and gravel on a moderate incline towards Stol. The temperature on the ascent should not be underestimated, especially in summer and on hot days. Make sure you take plenty of water with you. At an altitude of just under 1100 meters above sea level, you leave the military road, briefly cross the southern slopes and then enter a typical downhill trail for this area.

At difficulty level S2, occasionally S3 (depending on dryness and wetness), the route then descends towards Breginj. From Breginj, you then cross towards the summit of Preslav and take a few more trail sections via Sedlo before arriving back in the settlement area in Podbela. The difficulty of these trails is S1, occasionally S2. Along the Nadiža, the river on the south side of Stol, you return to the starting point in Kred via a mix of forest and meadow paths and easy trail sections. Shortly before this, you reach an inviting watering hole at the small waterfall.

Great trail (name on Trailforks: Repetitor). Fast, flowy and playful. Beer, hammock and stream are available at the end of the trail.

The Repetitor Trail is in great condition and highly recommended.
Unfortunately, the lower two trails to Sedlo and Podbela are overgrown and in very poor condition. It is almost impossible to get through the dense thorns without a machete. Better to drive around...
