Monte Mladesiena
Description
The tour starts in San Pietro al Natisone. From here, you ride up the valley on the bike path and then turn left onto the climb up to Spignon. Shortly after the small village, you reach the ridge and follow a gravel road to Monte Mladesiena. This is where the four-kilometer-long super trail down to Torreano begins, which is considered a real joy on the S2 level of the single trail scale. If you prefer something a little more technical, turn right immediately before the short counter-ascent and head straight for the valley floor on the S3 level.
In Torreano, it's back up to Monte Mladesiena. To do this, climb up the road to the village of Masarolis and then continue along another hairpin bend. Finally, the road branches off to the right, leading to the ridge that you already know from the first ascent. The last few meters to Monte Mladesiena are again on the familiar gravel path. Now follows the descent to the left, the so-called "Machete Trail." This descent is slightly steeper than the first and more technically demanding, but remains at a fluid S2 to S3 level. The trail leads down to the first houses of San Pietro al Natisone.
