From Mendrisio, take the mountain road up to Somazzo and continue climbing unabated to the parking lot and Osteria La Peonie. Instead, follow the ridge to Balduana, and at the Agriturismo Dosso dell'Ora, head down the singletrail to Sassi and continue on the flowing routes marked as hiking trails to Monte.
