Col Fromage

The area around Ceillac offers countless trail options with a high alpine flair combined with flowing paths. A short but impressive loop leads to Col Fromage.

Description

Start in Ceillac. Initially, the route climbs steadily uphill on a road with a medium to moderate gradient until you reach the hiking trail on the southern slopes below the Crête des Chambrettes. Here the mountain bike is pushed at the beginning, later individual sections can also be ridden. The traverse to Col Fromage has some exposed sections.

At the pass, you reach 2301 meters above sea level and enjoy the view of the Parc naturel régional du Queyras and the surrounding three-thousand-metre peaks that dominate the panorama in this area.

The descent leads directly southwards and is not difficult. On difficulty level S1, you roll down the entire southern ramp until you reach a feeder road at the picturesque hamlets near the Chapelle Sainte-Barbe. A short trail trimmer rounds off the tour before you arrive back in Ceillac
