Grünberg – Hallersteig
Description
The long ascent up to the Simmering Alm starts in Mötz in the Inn Valley. The first part of the gravel road leads through a wonderful pine forest, from the Grünberg Alm it becomes a little more alpine to reach the summit of the Grünberg via Zwischensemmering. The inconspicuous summit with its viewing tower is the starting point of the extraordinary Hallersteig descent. This narrow path meanders seemingly endlessly through the forest, interrupted every now and then by tight hairpin bends, then flowing again and never really steep down to the gravel road that you know from the ascent. This section is one of the best trails far and wide. To return to Mötz, follow the Klammbach stream right into the village center.
Tip: If you want to extend the route, first ride up to the Simmeringalm, then take the Alpsteig trail down almost to the Grünerberg Alm, where you can rejoin the original route of the Grünberg tour.
Note: The tour is located in Baden-Württemberg with the legal requirement of a two-meter rule. This tour contains elements that do not comply with this regulation. Rather, it reflects routes that are ridden by local mountain bikers. Compliance with the regulations is the responsibility of each individual mountain biker.
