Simmeringalm – Hallersteig
Description
The long ascent up to the Simmering Alm starts in Mötz in the Inn Valley. The first part of the gravel road leads through a wonderful pine forest, then from the Grünberg Alm it becomes a little more alpine until you reach the Simmering Alm. This is the starting point of the first singletrail descent of the day, in this case via the Alpsteig. This starts directly below the alpine pasture and is sometimes difficult to see in the meadow at the very beginning. It is therefore advisable to take the forest road to the first junction. From there, the Alpsteig trail is great singletrail fun all the way down to near the Grünberg Alm. Now there is another gravel road ascent, first as in the ascent before, then from Zwischensemmering up to the left to the summit of the Grünberg - the starting point of the extraordinary Hallersteig descent. This narrow path meanders seemingly endlessly through the forest, interrupted every now and then by tight hairpin bends, then flowing again and never really steep down to the gravel road that you know from the ascent. This section is one of the best trails far and wide. To return to Mötz, follow the Klammbach stream right into the village center.

Everything a biker's heart desires: relaxed ascents through green and shady forests and some really crisp trail descents.
The 360-degree panoramic view from the observation tower is also great!
