Monte Campuccio – San Michele
Description
The starting point of the tour is the main road Via dei Colli above the village of Saló. From here, the route follows a typical Italian side road through small villages to Collio and continues along the Rio Traversante via Sopra i Prati and then extremely steeply up to Monte Campuccio. Only the toughest under the sun can really pedal on an organic bike. A real treat for e-bikers, however. Uphill flow takes on a new meaning here and puts a grin on your face. Once you reach the summit, you can recover from the extremely steep uphill and enjoy the mountain panorama. On a clear day, Lake Garda is truly at your feet and the view of Lombardy is spectacular.
Continue downhill on difficulty levels S1 to S2 to the Gardoncello mountain pasture. From here, a mountain path winds its way towards Cascina Pozze. The gravel road is taken here for a short time, before the route continues on difficulty S2 to S3 to San Michele. The middle section should be enjoyed with a little caution, as there are some trees in the trail, as well as large, loose stones and a lot of foliage (spring 2022). From San Michele, there is another uphill from Monticelli to Bagnolo. This is followed by a fantastic trail towards Madonna del Rio. At difficulty level S2, there are all the facets a downhill-oriented biker could want. In between there is even a section secured by ropes, but this is no problem for technically minded bikers. From the Madonna del Rio church, you roll out a few meters before reaching the last trail and finally arriving at the starting point in Saló.

To clarify the extremely steep uphill: approx. 300 meters uphill with a gradient of well over 20% (up to 27%), mostly on very loose stony ground. You have to like it, I wouldn't call it uphill flow.
Uphill flow referred to the previous sentence, i.e. for e-bikes :-)
