Monte Castello offers one of the most unusual and bizarre tours on Lake Garda. The tour includes some carrying uphill, some pedaling to one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the entire lake, followed by a very technical descent.

Description

The tour starts in Campione del Garda. Please note that this town can only be reached by bus or car. You start the route pedalling, but this soon changes and you have to carry your bike for around 450 meters up to Prabione. From here, you continue pedaling towards Tignale, but then take the Via Don Domenico road and follow it to the large monastery and the church buildings. The route then continues pushing and carrying up to the summit of Monte Castello (779 meters above sea level). With good visibility, you can enjoy a tremendous panorama for a relatively low altitude. However, the viewing platform is exposed, so caution is advised!

The downhill trail then starts relatively difficult at S2 to S3 level and winds its way back to Prabione. From Prabione, the ascent variant continues unabated at S3 to upper S3 level down to Campione del Garda. In the meantime, there is also a reservoir channel of the old power station in between, which you ride through. Very quirky, very bizarre - Lake Garda style! Once you arrive in Campione del Garda, you can round off the day with a leisurely coffee and take a dip in the cool water.
