Monte Casale – Toblino
Description
The route starts in Sarche near Lake Toblino. From here, the route initially winds steadily uphill for a few hairpin bends on asphalt on the main road, but soon branches off onto the old country road and enjoys a wonderful panoramic tour through the gorge over the F. Sarca. Here you then wind your way back to the main road on asphalt, cross it briefly and take a small trail detour before ending up on the Strada Forestale. You spend a long time here before climbing all the way up to Monte Casale via Comano. It is important to carry enough water on this tour. If the rifugio at the summit is not open, you may run out of water. The last 100 meters in altitude run above the tree line and therefore offer a breathtaking 360-degree panorama. On a clear day, the mountain ranges of the Brenta Dolomites and the rock formations of the surrounding mountains seem almost kitschy.
The trail descent is just as kitschy. Initially at S1 to S2 level, it goes all the way to the ridge. However, it should be noted that you have to push downhill for about 100 meters - only absolute trial pros can ride here. After that, the trail runs on a difficulty level between S2 and S3 all the way down through the deciduous forests to Lake Toblino. In the middle section, the trail becomes a little easier before showing its teeth again on the last few Elevation losses. Once at the bottom of the valley, you complete a true singletrail classic in the somewhat hidden trail paradise around Comano.
